Valley Conservatory, Microwave Dave Foundation open applications for Danny Hall Scholarship

HUNTSVILLE – Valley Conservatory has partnered with the Microwave Dave Music Education Foundation in the Danny Hall Memorial Music Scholarship.

The scholarship pays tuition for one year of music lessons at Valley Conservatory and is awarded to young musicians who could benefit from expert tutoring and financial assistance. Valley Conservatory is Huntsville’s first fine arts academy.

The nonprofit Microwave Dave Foundation works with local musicians, educators, and music teachers to support and promote music education in North Alabama.

The organization selects two recipients every year for the scholarship, created in 2019 in memory of Huntsville musician Danny Hall.

Hall established himself on the Huntsville music scene in the 1970s. Over 46 years, he played with local bands such as The Rock Fossils, Kozmic Mama, The Crawlers and the Brakers. He also performed solo and duo gigs.

Applications are accepted through Nov. 4.
