Alabama-based Brasfield & Gorrie has been awarded a $658.2 million Army contract to design and build four facilities in Anniston supporting missile maintenance, component remanufacturing and other operations.

The Birmingham-headquartered construction firm received the contract last week with a total cumulative face value of nearly $987 million, according to the Department of War.

Under the award, Brasfield & Gorrie will design and construct four separate facilities for component remanufacture, missile maintenance, painting and storage.

Work will be performed in Anniston and is expected to be completed by Aug. 30, 2030.

The Army received two bids for the project following an online solicitation.

The full $658.2 million awarded Thursday was obligated at the time of the award using fiscal 2026 military construction funds.

The Army Mission and Installation Contracting Command at Fort Sam Houston, Texas, is the contracting activity.

Brasfield & Gorrie was founded in Birmingham in 1964 and remains headquartered in the city. The privately held general contractor also has a Huntsville office and works across the country in construction management, general contracting and design-build services.

The company has a substantial footprint in its home state, with Alabama projects including Birmingham’s Protective Stadium and City Walk BHAM as well as work at Jacksonville State University.

Brasfield & Gorrie is also expanding its Birmingham headquarters campus in the Lakeview District. The company has said the investment will add at least 80 full-time jobs.
