A Huntsville defense manufacturer has landed a five-year Army contract worth up to $10.6 million for sensor head kits.

Consumer Fuels Inc., which does business as CFI, was awarded the $10,625,482 firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract by the Defense Logistics Agency for MVSS sensor head kits.

The sole-source contract was awarded Aug. 31 and has an ordering period extending through Aug. 31, 2031. Army working capital funds from fiscal years 2026 through 2031 will be used as orders are placed.

CFI’s work is focused on engineering, manufacturing and support for military and commercial systems.

The Huntsville company provides engineered and manufactured ground support equipment, target systems, test instrumentation and components used for system maintenance and repair. Its capabilities also include maintenance and restoration of shelters, power-generation equipment, aircraft ground-handling equipment, expandable vans and aircraft medical fixtures.

The latest award adds sensor head kits to that portfolio of defense work.

The contract was awarded on a sole-source basis under federal acquisition rules allowing an agency to procure supplies or services from a single source when only one responsible source can satisfy the government’s requirements.

Defense Logistics Agency Weapons Support in Warren, Michigan, is the contracting activity.
