Community leaders from Alabama and Tennessee joined employees and residents this week to celebrate the opening of a new business in one of the Tennessee Valley’s most unique communities.

The Greater Ardmore Chamber hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Tractor Supply Company location at 25991 Main Street, marking the retailer’s official arrival in Ardmore, a town that spans the Alabama-Tennessee state line and serves residents across Madison and Limestone counties in Alabama and Giles and Lincoln counties in Tennessee.

Following the ceremony, Ardmore Store Manager Miranda Malone Locke said the opening represents months of preparation and teamwork.

“We are incredibly grateful for the warm welcome Ardmore has given us,” Locke said. “This grand opening represents months of hard work from an outstanding team, and we couldn’t be more excited to officially become part of this community. Thank you to our team members, customers, community partners, and the Chamber of Commerce for helping make this milestone possible. We look forward to serving Ardmore and the surrounding area for many years to come.”

Founded in 1938 by Charles E. Schmidt Sr. as a mail-order tractor parts business, Tractor Supply has grown into the nation’s largest rural lifestyle retailer. The company now operates more than 2,200 stores in 49 states and provides products for homeowners, landowners, pet owners and agricultural customers.

Greater Ardmore Chamber Director Yolandia Eubanks said the new store is expected to have a positive impact on the community, both economically and through workforce development opportunities.

Several of the store’s employees are members of the Future Farmers of America program at Ardmore High School, providing students with valuable work experience while they continue their education.

“This type of investment in our community can help improve the lives of our community members and their families,” Eubanks said.

The new store adds another retail option for residents of the bi-state community, which serves as a hub for surrounding rural areas while also drawing commuters who work in nearby Huntsville and Athens.

Tractor Supply currently operates 93 stores across Tennessee and 72 locations in Alabama. The Ardmore location is expected to serve customers from throughout the northern Tennessee Valley region.
