BJ’s Wholesale Club in Madison offers founding memberships

MADISON — The first BJ’s Wholesale Club store in Alabama won’t open for a couple more months but BJ’s Wholesale Club is offering founding memberships Friday, the company announced.

The memberships can be purchased at the membership center, 8760 Madison Boulevard in Town Madison. The hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily; 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays; and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

According to the company, the one-year Club Card membership is $55 and includes a $40 welcome reward and $40 in coupons. The founding membership offer will be available through Nov. 9.

Commonly referred to as BJ’s, the membership-only warehouse club chain is scheduled to open its Madison store in November. The store will feature a wide assortment of fresh foods and produce, a full-service deli, seasonal items, home décor, electronics, and apparel.

There will be a BJ’s Gas location on-site and the club offers benefits to members, including BJ’s Optical, BJ’s Travel, Home Improvement and an on-site tire center.

groundbreaking ceremony in April included a $10,000 donation to the Food Bank of North Alabama. BJ’s will donate unsold produce, meat, dairy and more to the food bank every week to support the community.
