MADISON — The city’s largest hotel is coming to Town Madison.
With a view of Toyota Field, a 208-room Courtyard and Residence Inn by Marriot is the latest to join the lineup in the ever-growing development. Expected to be completed in the fall of 2023, the hotel by Dunn Hospitality will be the largest in the city.
In the Exchange District of Town Madison, across from the recently opened J. Alexander’s, the Residence Inn and Courtyard by Marriot will combine two concepts under one location in the more than 550-acre development along Interstate 565.
The new hotel has been under development for five years, according to David Dunn, president of Dunn Hospitality Group.
“We are proud to be here,” said Dunn at the ground-breaking. “We applaud (developer) Louis Breland for his vision and support. Town Madison has all the ingredients for success and it’s the perfect location for us to drive a stake into the ground.
“We look forward to bringing two, best in class, Marriott hotels to Town Madison with the Residence Inn and Courtyard by Marriot.”
Breland praised the Dunn Hospitality Group.
“When developing Town Madison, we worked to bring in the best development partners in the country that deliver high quality products,” he said. “This new Marriott is the latest example.”
Also speaking at the event, Madison Mayor Paul Finley applauded the continued success of Town Madison.
“This is another quality business brought to the city of Madison,” he said. “And we’re not done yet.
“There’s more to come.”
Madison County chairman Dale Strong praised the new hotel as a shining example of private industry.
“If government gets out of the way, private industry can be successful and that’s what we’ve got here,” he said.
Developed by Breland Cos., Town Madison spans 553 acres along Interstate 565. When completed, the mixed-use regional development will include 1,000,000 square feet of retail, restaurant, and entertainment venues. The new Residence Inn and Courtyard by Marriot will join three other hotels in Town Madison.
