HUNTSVILLE – If vintage cars catch the eye and rev the engine, then clear at least one of three dates in October to be at The Orion Amphitheater.
The arena for many of the city’s heart-racing music concerts is hosting the Rocket City Southeastern Fall Nationals from Oct. 23-26. The show, sponsored by the North Alabama Region (NAR) of the Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA), will bring some of the most unique and legendary cars.
The AACA, fondly referred to as “America’s Car Club,” celebrates all vehicles 25 years and older, bringing like-minded car enthusiasts together for a fun and exciting experience.
Jeff Slagle, president of the NAR-AACA chapter, said, “It is exciting to bring the 1st national show to this area in decades. We are thrilled to bring in vehicles from all over the southeastern US. We appreciate the support of the Huntsville/Madison County Convention & Visitors Bureau and The Orion Amphitheater to elevate the experience for our attendees and vehicle owners.”
Activities kick off Oct. 23 with a drop-in social and conclude with the awards presentation the following night at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center’s Davidson Center, Saturn V Hall.
The actual car “show” starts that morning with hundreds of “factory correct” vehicles being judged at The Orion south parking lot. Participation requires current AACA membership, but spectators’ admission is free.
