HH Lincoln Health and Huntsville Hospital’s Heart Center officially celebrated the opening of Heart Center Lincoln on Tuesday, expanding access to specialized cardiovascular care for residents of Lincoln County and the surrounding region.
The new clinic, which opened to patients in June, was recognized during a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house hosted in partnership with the Fayetteville-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce.
Located adjacent to Lincoln Medical Center, Heart Center Lincoln offers evaluation and treatment for high blood pressure, high cholesterol, coronary artery disease, heart rhythm disorders, congestive heart failure, cardiac evaluations, surgical clearance and other cardiovascular conditions.
“This is an exciting day for our community,” said Mary Beth Seals, president of HH Lincoln Health. “Huntsville Hospital Health System is at the heart of our HH Lincoln Health System. This partnership brings expert cardiovascular care right here at home, providing our patients with direct access to advanced cardiac services.”
Since opening, the clinic has completed approximately 150 patient visits, interpreted nearly 200 cardiac imaging studies and provided telemedicine consultations for 20 Lincoln Medical Center inpatients, according to Morgan Dennis, president of Huntsville Hospital’s Heart Center.
Dennis said those services have allowed patients to remain in Lincoln County for treatment rather than being transferred to another facility.
“Every one of those patients has remained in Lincoln County for their care rather than being transferred elsewhere, and that’s exactly what this partnership is designed to do,” Dennis said.
Cardiologist Dr. David Smull said the clinic expands access to specialized heart care, allowing patients to receive timely treatment closer to home.
For nurse practitioner Stephanie Rives, the clinic’s opening also has personal significance. Rives has worked with Huntsville Hospital’s Heart Center for 21 years and has lived in Fayetteville for the same amount of time.
“It’s truly a blessing to care for my neighbors,” Rives said.
Heart Center Lincoln becomes the newest location in Huntsville Hospital’s Heart Center regional network, which now includes 10 cardiovascular clinics serving patients across Alabama and Tennessee.
The clinic is located at 108 Medical Center Blvd., Suite 125, in Fayetteville. It is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and is accepting both physician referrals and self-referrals. Visit the Heart Center Lincoln website for more information.
