Huntsville-based Invariant Corporation has been named one of the fastest-growing private companies in the country after recording 265% revenue growth over the past three years according to the company.

The growth earned the 100% employee-owned engineering and technology company a spot on the 2026 Inc. 5000, which recognizes the fastest-growing private companies in the United States.

For Invariant, the recognition comes as the company marks its 25th year. The company said the growth is particularly significant for an employee-owned small defense business competing with much larger companies for government contracts.

Founded in Huntsville in 2001, Invariant has evolved from its focus on engineering and technical work into a product-focused company that develops technology for defense, homeland security and law enforcement customers. While headquartered in Huntsville, the company has employees across the United States and overseas.

Invariant’s work includes advanced engineering, software and hardware development, sensors, modeling and simulation, rapid prototyping and systems integration. The company continues to support critical national security missions while increasing its presence in Huntsville.

A recent example of Invariant’s developing capabilities came in its counter-drone work. The company demonstrated what it called a first-in-the-market counter-UAS kill chain by integrating its FireFLY passive acoustic sensor and artificial intelligence-driven EO/IR architecture with the Surface-to-Air Kinetic Engagement, or STAKE, counter-unmanned aircraft system.

Anderson credited Invariant’s employee-owners for helping drive the company’s success.
