The Limestone County Board of Registrars is notifying voters of two precinct changes approved ahead of the upcoming May 19 primary election.

The Limestone County Commission recently approved the relocation of one existing precinct and the creation of a new precinct to accommodate continued population growth in parts of the county.

Westside Community Center will no longer serve as a polling location. Voters previously assigned to that site will now cast their ballots at Owens Campus – Alabama Connections Academy, located at 21465 Highway 99 in Athens.

According to the board, the move was necessary after the precinct outgrew the former building and available parking at Westside Community Center.

Another new voting precinct, First Bible Church, 29113 Huntsville-Brownsferry Road in Madison, has been approved, a change driven by the continued growth in that area of the county, according to officials.

Voters affected by the changes will receive updated voter information cards by mail.

“We want every Limestone County voter to know exactly where to cast their ballot,” said Sandy Smith, chair of the Limestone County Board of Registrars. “We encourage anyone with questions to contact our office so we can make sure they’re prepared and ready to vote.”

With the May 19, 2026, primary election approaching, the board also reminded residents that the deadline to register to vote or update an existing registration is May 4, 2026. Officials encouraged voters not to wait until the deadline to make any necessary updates.

Voters can register or update their information online through the Alabama Secretary of State website.

Anyone with questions about the precinct changes or their voter registration status may contact the Limestone County Board of Registrars during normal business hours at 256-233-6405 or by email at [email protected].
