Madison Visionary Partners to bring community to the table for shared meal and music

MADISON – In the wake of the government shutdown and its effect on this area, a Madison nonprofit is picking up the lunch tab this weekend.

Madison Visionary Partners  invites the community to come together Sunday for Gather Madison, a free outdoor lunch celebrating connection, kindness and community.

The event will be 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at Homeplace Park in Downtown Madison.

The hearty Southern-style meal includes chicken tenders, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, green beans, potato salad, rolls and dessert.

With music from The Drive-In Mondays, folks will gather at long communal table to share a meal.

“The timing couldn’t be more meaningful,” said MVP Executive Director Christina Hearne. “As the community feels the ripple effects of the government shutdown and the temporary pause of SNAP benefits, MVP is preparing to welcome residents to Gather Madison for a free, shared meal.”

While free to attend, Gather Madison will serve as a fundraiser for MVP, the community nonprofit dedicated to enriching Madison’s quality of life. Proceeds from sponsorships will support MVP’s community initiatives.
