Mauldin & Jenkins, LLC, an Atlanta-headquartered accounting firm with an office on Lowe Avenue in Huntsville, climbed six spots to 77 in Accounting Today’s Top 100 Firms and was up five percentage points from last year’s report to make the “Regional Leader” list as a top firm serving the Southeast.

As a show of overall industry growth, 16 of the 29 firms named Regional Leaders, including Mauldin & Jenkins, reported double-digit growth.

Hanson Borders, managing partner for M&J in Atlanta, credited their investments in staffing to not only meet client needs, but to exceed expectations with new service offerings tailored to specific circumstances.

“It is an honor to be recognized by Accounting Today,” said Borders. “Given the unique challenges we have faced over the past two years, we are proud that our commitment to client service has allowed us to sustain high growth.”

Accounting Today’s annual Top 100 Firms is based on surveys from approximately 300 leading tax and accounting firms from across the country, based on the previous year’s revenue. In the past, the list was limited to CPA firms, but this year professional services firms that offer accounting services were also eligible for ranking. The change is a direct result of shifts in the accounting services market.

According to the report, many of the top firms attribute their growth to mergers and acquisitions brought about as a means for achieving growth, but to add specific service lines, geographic areas, and the development of talent to their teams.

To be qualified for Top 100 Firms, firms must start at $47.30 million in net revenue.

Mauldin & Jenkins clients come from a range of industries including governmental, banking, healthcare, construction, nonprofit, financial services, film and entertainment, entrepreneurial, and higher education.
