Monday blues: Music genre one of many coming to Big Spring series

HUNTSVILLE – A Huntsville tradition returns next month with a broad-ranging lineup of musical acts scheduled for the 2024 Concerts in the Park.

Arts Huntsville and the City of Huntsville Department of Parks and Recreation’s annual series runs each Monday from June 5-Aug. 5 at Big Spring Park from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

The series is free. Concertgoers should bring their own seating and leashed pets are welcome. The opening night kicks off with a drone show celebrating 25 years of Intuitive Research and Technology – a first-of-its-kind display for Huntsville.

“Concerts in the Park is Huntsville’s summer soundtrack,” Allison Dillon-Jauken, executive director of Arts Huntsville, said. “Every Monday evening, Big Spring Park will transform into a stage for rising stars and beloved local bands – there’s something for everyone throughout the summer.

“Plus, with delicious food trucks on-site, it’s the perfect way to start each week and connect with the community.”

James Gossett, director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Huntsville, said, “Concerts in the Park is a tradition we’re all proud of. Get ready for free, family-friendly concerts right in the heart of the city.”

Local food trucks and vendors will be onsite offering diverse local cuisine. Food trucks will be along Williams Avenue with additional offerings in the park. Picnics are encouraged.
