Music added to schedule for second Christmas on the River at Ditto Landing

HUNTSVILLE – There’s been a schedule change for Christmas on the River at Ditto Landing this weekend.

The performance by the music group Love Apples originally set for Saturday has been rescheduled for Dec. 16 at 2 p.m.

Christmas on the River, the brainchild of the South Huntsville Main Business Association, is back with a full calendar that features daily activities including live music on weekends that kicked off Friday and runs through Dec. 31.

Presenting sponsors are Freedom Real Estate and Capital, LLC. Support comes from District 5 Commissioner Phil Riddick and the Madison County Commission.

Daily Schedule

• Christmas Tree Lot: Locally grown Christmas trees are on sale now
• Christmas Card Lane: Enjoy life size Christmas cards as you stroll down the mile-long Tennessee River Greenway listening to Christmas songs along the way
• Fireworks presented by Redstone Gateway: Will light up the water on Friday and Dec. 22 at 7 p.m.
• Reindeer Rails presented by ServisFirst: Enjoy a 12-foot by 20-foot snow village and model train display featuring two main lines and two trolleys. Most of the display has been donated from the community (donations still accepted)
• Redstone Federal Credit Union’s Holiday Market: Holiday shopping Dec. 9 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the State Docks.
• State Docks Mural presented by Singing River Trail: Post your selfies and family photos, designed by Art Lady Sonya
• Christmas Card Lane Shuttle: For those who aren’t able to make the mile long Greenway walk, we are allowing you to slowly drive the greenway Thursdays from Dec. 7–28. Start at Ditto Landing and finish at East Harbor
• State Docks Stage Live Music: New to Christmas on the River, live music performances will take place on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 5-8 p.m. 
• Erwin Marine’s Deck the Docks: Boaters will dress up their boats in the holiday best Dec. 15-17
