One year after Mike and Charla Johnson opened their luxurious new Terramé Day Spa and Salon at 8151 Madison Boulevard in Madison, R City Eye Care has announced they will open a second location in the 5,000 square-foot commercial space next door.
The new clinic will occupy about one-third of the building, sharing the space with a yet unannounced boutique and coffee shop combination.
Optometry specialists, Dr. Rica McRoy and business partner Alana Coker, OD have had their eyes on the Terramé building for over a year, giving them the perfect opportunity to reach out to more people in need of eye care.
“This was an opportunity to expand our current practice in Huntsville,” Dr. McRoy said. “We will be adding two new doctors for the Madison location and will be accepting new patients.”
Dr. McRoy, who considers herself a Huntsville native, although she moved to Huntsville from India as a toddler in the mid-1970s, got her degree from the Southern College of Optometry in 1996 and later received her MBA from Alabama A&M.
“When we built the building, we were focused on finding tenants with whom we felt had some synergy with Terramé,” said Mike Johnson. “Dr. McRoy has a successful eye care practice in Huntsville, and I know her to be an excellent eye doctor who will bring a great medical service to Madison residents.”
Madison Mayor Paul Finley praised their arrival.
“We are very happy Terramé chose Madison to build their new building and with their new tenants like R City Eye Care, we will continue to draw daytime traffic to Madison.
“We have a lot of people who come home to Madison after work and I am focusing on offering quality of life services that bring more people to Madison to shop, dine, and enjoy the day here.”
R City Eye Care plans to open the Madison Boulevard location in April.
