HUNTSVILLE – The Huntsville City Council dealt with a subject that always draws plenty of interest from residents – neighborhood road paving.

The council approved Phase 2 of the plan to repave residential streets at its regular meeting last week. The repaving list can be viewed here

The resolution includes authorizing the mayor to enter into an agreement with Grayson Carter and Son Contracting Inc. for the provision of services for the resurfacing. The company won the $6.2 million contract to improve 54 neighborhood streets within the next 10 months.

Mayor Tommy Battle’s 2023-2024 budget includes about $18 million for street improvements. Phase 1 of the repaving plan resurfaced 68 residential streets.

More information about the city’s repaving program, including streets that were part of Phase 1, is available here.
