Sleep in Heavenly Peace, Athens Rotary Club partner to deliver beds for children in Limestone County

Sleep in Heavenly Peace Limestone County has received a $5,000 donation from the Athens Rotary Club to support its mission of providing beds to children in need across the community.

The contribution will help fund materials such as lumber, hardware, mattresses and bedding, allowing volunteers to build and deliver fully furnished beds to children who currently do not have a safe place to sleep.

“Sleep in Heavenly Peace positively touches the lives of so many children in our community,” said Chris Hamilton, president of the Athens Rotary Club. “I am proud that the Athens Rotary Board agreed to make this donation to such a worthwhile cause.”

Sleep in Heavenly Peace is a national nonprofit with local chapters focused on ensuring that no child sleeps on the floor. The Limestone County chapter relies heavily on donations and volunteer support to meet growing demand in the area.

“We are humbled by the generosity of the Athens Rotary Club and their willingness to help get more kids off the floor in Limestone County,” said Bill Dunnavant, director of SHP Limestone County.

Local leaders said the partnership reflects a shared commitment to improving the well-being of children in the community, noting that access to a proper bed can have a significant impact on a child’s health and development.

The Athens Rotary Club has a long history of supporting community initiatives, and organizers say the donation will help provide beds for dozens of local children.
