HUNTSVILLE — A movie trailer about the “first steps” of Marvel Comics’ first family premiered today just a few miles from where the U.S. space program took its first steps.
Marvel Studios’ “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” hosted an audience, including theater students from Bob Jones and James Clemens high schools, and key cast members at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center to launch the film’s inaugural trailer.
Fans from around the world caught the debut on a Marvel livestream with the Saturn V rocket as the backdrop in the Davidson Center for Space Exploration. The film will land in theaters July 25.

Cast members Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss-Bachrach commandeered the countdown and launch surrounded by fans outside the Space Center’s National Geographic Theater. Angélique Roché hosted the event that included a Q&A with the stars.
Set against the backdrop of a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world, “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” introduces Marvel’s First Family — Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic (Pascal), Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Kirby), Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Quinn) and Ben Grimm/The Thing (Moss-Bachrach) — as they face their most daunting challenge yet.
Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from the ravenous space god Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his enigmatic herald, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner).
And if Galactus’ plan to devour the entire planet and everyone on it wasn’t bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal.
The action adventure also stars Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, Natasha Lyonne and Sarah Niles. It is directed by Matt Shakman, produced by Kevin Feige and executive produced by Louis D’Esposito, Grant Curtis and Tim Lewis.
