In an interview that can be found on YouTube, and with the help of his wife Mary, Travis said the the tribute means, “A lot.”

Mary said during the online piece she wants her husband to know “that he made the music he did and that it still sounds good. And then to have tributes to you when you can’t sing the music, but someone else will step in for you, and some of the great artists who do step in say, ‘Hey, I want to be one of those who sing your music,’ even though they have a whole collection of their own music.

“But it’s like, ‘I just want to spend this time and energy singing your songs because they changed my life.’ ”

Travis is one of the biggest country stars of all time. He has won seven Grammys, 11 CMAs
and 10 ACMs. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2016.
