The USA Patriots Amputee Softball Team will return to Toyota Field next month for an annual Rocket City tradition that puts service, resilience and some serious softball talent on the same field.

The Patriots, a team made up primarily of current and former service members who lost limbs while serving in uniform, will take the field Saturday, Sept. 12, for the annual event organized by the Young Professionals of the AUSA Redstone-Huntsville Chapter.

The game showcases the Patriots’ athleticism, but its purpose reaches beyond the scoreboard.

Proceeds will benefit the USA Patriots Kids Camp, a free, weeklong program for children with limb differences that introduces young athletes to adaptive sports while building confidence, friendships and independence.

The Patriots use competitive softball and community outreach to demonstrate what remains possible after limb loss, with the players serving as particularly powerful examples for children navigating similar physical challenges.

The annual Huntsville-area game has grown into a community tribute to military service and sacrifice while helping support that next generation of adaptive athletes.

The Redstone-Huntsville Chapter of the Association of the United States Army has deep ties to the military community surrounding Redstone Arsenal. Chartered in 1959, the nonprofit chapter supports soldiers, Army civilians, veterans and military families, with its Young Professionals organizing the Patriots’ annual local appearance.

The game is Saturday, Sept. 12, at Toyota Field, home of the Rocket City Trash Pandas. Tickets are $10, plus taxes and fees.

For the Patriots, taking the field is another form of service, using sport to show what is possible after trauma and to open those possibilities for the next generation.
