HUNTSVILLE – Huntsville-based Torch Technologies, one of the nation’s leading defense contractors, has been named to the Tugboat Institute’s inaugural Best Evergreen Companies list.
Each of the companies on the list exemplifies excellence across all of the Evergreen 7Ps principles. Their dedication to their business excellence is characterized by determination, patience, and an unwavering desire to improve.
The Evergreen 7Ps are Purpose, Perserverance, People First, Private, Profit, Paced Growth and Pragmatic Innovation — core values that are meant for businesses to adapt and grow profitably for 100 yers and more.
“We are thrilled to be named to the inaugural Best Evergreen Companies list,” Torch Technologies President Brad Walker said. “This is truly an honor. It is also a testament to the commitment of Torch and each of our employee-owners to the Evergreen principles and to our desire to remain a company for 100-plus years.”
Evergreen companies are found in industries from finance to technology, and from consumer-packaged goods to construction, Tugboat Technologies stated in a news release. Their sizes, ages, ownership structures, and geographies vary widely as well, confirming that excellent Evergreen companies can and do exist everywhere.
“We are pleased to recognize Torch Technologies as one of the inaugural members of the Best Evergreen Companies List,” said Dave Whorton, CEO of Tugboat Institute. “In 2023, Torch Technologies became Certified Evergreen after completing a rigorous assessment of their integration of the Evergreen 7Ps principles.
“They exemplify the belief that being of service to their employees leads to long-term service to customers, suppliers, and communities, ultimately building companies that add significant, lasting value and make a difference in the world.”
