Cam Newton to headline Leaders & Legends dinner

HUNTSVILLE — Former Auburn and NFL quarterback Cam Newton will be the keynote speaker at this year’s Leaders & Legends Dinner to benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of North Alabama. The event is July 13 in the Von Braun Center North Hall.

Newton has become a living legend for Auburn fans who saw the Heisman Trophy winner throw three touchdowns and run for another to beat Alabama in November 2010 and leading the Tigers to a National Championship.

He went on to play 11 seasons in the NFL with the Carolina Panthers. He is the NFL all-time leader in career quarterback rushing touchdowns and second in career quarterback rushing yards.

Leaders & Legends is one of North Alabama’s largest fundraisers, attracting some of the world’s most accomplished athletes, leaders and speakers.

A silent auction will begin at 5 p.m. with dinner at 6.
