HUNTSVILLE – The Huntsville Heart Walk through the heart of downtown Huntsville takes a beat this Saturday.

The walk begins on Church Street at the pedestrian crossing at Big Spring Park East. Check-in is at 8 a.m. and the walk starts at 9 a.m.

Hosted by the American Heart Association, their statistics show heart disease is the No. 1 killer worldwide with stroke ranking second globally. Even when those conditions don’t result in death, they can cause disability and diminish quality of life.

Almost everyone has a connection to heart disease and stroke whether it is you, a friend or family member, and whether it is hereditary or caused by lifestyle choices. Every walker and every dollar donated means more research, more certified lifesaving CPR, more medical breakthroughs, and more champions for equitable health.

The Heart Association wants to see a world free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke and registering for the Huntsville Heart Walk Team is the first step toward saving lives.

The Heart Walk is also an opportunity to join friends, family and co-workers in forming a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives.
