Leidos awarded $24.2 million contract modification for cruise missile production in Huntsville

(Leidos)

Leidos has been awarded a $24.2 million contract modification to produce additional All Up Rounds for the AGM-190A Small Cruise Missile program, continuing work that will be performed at the company’s Huntsville operations through early 2029.

The award, announced by U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), modifies an existing fixed-price incentive contract supporting the AGM-190A Small Cruise Missile program.

The modification includes $548,665 in fiscal year 2025 procurement funds and $23.65 million in fiscal year 2026 procurement funds, which will be obligated at the time of award. Work is scheduled to be completed by Feb. 26, 2029.

Leidos will perform the work in Huntsville, with USSOCOM at MacDill Air Force Base, Florida, serving as the contracting activity.

Leidos acquired Huntsville’s Dynetics subsidiary in 2020. Based in Cummings Research Park, their combined operations support a wide range of Department of War and Department of Defense programs involving missile systems, hypersonic technologies, advanced manufacturing, radar systems and cybersecurity.

The company has continued expanding its Huntsville footprint, including the recent opening of a 64,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Cummings Research Park to support increased production capacity.

The AGM-190A Small Cruise Missile is designed to provide U.S. Special Operations forces with a precision strike capability against a variety of targets. The contract modification supports continued procurement of operational missile systems for the program.
