ATHENS — Calling all job seekers!

The Limestone County Economic Development Association, in partnership with the Athens-Limestone County Chamber of Commerce, is hosting a hiring fair Tuesday that included on-site interviews.

The event is 2-5 p.m. at the Alabama Veterans Museum and Archives, at 114 W. Pryor Street in Athens and will feature companies with open positions. Attendees will have the opportunity to network, learn about available job openings and participate in on-site interviews.

“One of our top priorities is strengthening the local workforce by helping more people enter or re-enter the labor market,” said Limestone County Economic Development Association President and CEO Bethany Shockney. “This hiring event gives us a real opportunity to increase labor force participation and match job seekers with employers who are ready to hire.”

Companies expected to attend are the Alabama Department of Transportation, Old Black Bear Brewing, Crawford’s Gifts, Athens-Limestone Hospital, Huntsville Coca-Cola, Custom Assembly/MCK Trucking, Gulf Distributing Holdings, Rogers Group, and more.

A highlight of this year’s event is the hiring platform, Career Connect. This platform has connected thousands of job seekers with employment opportunities and it aims to connect people seeking employment with their next career opportunity.

Job seekers should pre-register at www.northalabamajobs.com/ATHENS.

All attendees will have their digital resumes printed at the event and can receive communications from employers after the event through the platform. Anyone who’s looking for a job in North Alabama can sign up, whether they attend the event or not.

Employers can register on the Career Connect platform, post active positions at no cost, and access job seekers’ digital resumes through a secure employer dashboard. To register, visit www.northalabamajobs.com/job-connect/employer-login.
