NASA has selected four companies with significant Huntsville operations to compete for spacecraft processing work under a contract valued at up to $100 million.
All Points Logistics, Blue Origin, Firefly Aerospace and L3Harris Technologies were added to NASA’s Spacecraft Processing Operations Contract through an on-ramp provision that allows additional qualified providers to join the contract.
For Huntsville, the list is a familiar one.
All Points has longstanding operations in Cummings Research Park and has supported NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center for more than two decades. Blue Origin operates its major rocket engine manufacturing facility in Huntsville, while Firefly Aerospace is expanding its presence in the Rocket City to support strategic defense and hypersonic programs.
L3Harris also has a substantial Huntsville manufacturing footprint, with three local sites supporting propulsion and other aerospace and defense programs.
Under the NASA contract, the four companies will be eligible to compete for task orders providing facilities and services needed to prepare spacecraft and associated rocket hardware before delivery to the launch pad.
The work supports NASA missions launching from locations where the necessary payload processing capabilities were not available when the original contract was awarded.
NASA’s Spacecraft Processing Operations Contract is a multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity vehicle with an aggregate ceiling of $100 million. The ordering period runs through Feb. 1, 2033.
NASA’s Launch Services Program at Kennedy Space Center in Florida will manage the contract. The program supports launches ranging from small university satellites to some of NASA’s highest-priority science missions.
