City of Madison officials and the Rocket City Trash Pandas cut the ribbon Monday on a new visiting clubhouse at Toyota Field, completing the latest round of facility upgrades designed to keep the stadium in compliance with Major League Baseball standards while preparing for future marquee events.
The new clubhouse enhances the experience for visiting players and coaches while helping position Toyota Field to continue attracting major sporting events, including the SEC Softball Tournament, which will make its debut in Madison in 2027.
The project is the latest collaboration between the City of Madison, BallCorps ownership and the Trash Pandas to maintain Toyota Field as one of the premier sports and entertainment venues in the region.
“This project is a testament to what can be accomplished through strong partnerships and a shared vision for the future of Toyota Field,” said Garrett Fahrmann, executive vice president and general manager of the Rocket City Trash Pandas.
“We’re grateful for the support of BallCorps ownership, Mayor Bartlett and the City of Madison, and the many partners who helped bring this project to completion. Not only does this investment ensure Toyota Field remains compliant with Major League Baseball facility standards, but it also enhances our ability to host premier events like the SEC Softball Tournament beginning in 2027 while continuing to provide a first-class experience for players, coaches and visitors.”
Mayor Ranae Bartlett said the investment reflects the city’s ongoing commitment to keeping Toyota Field competitive as both a sports venue and community gathering place.
“We’re grateful for the support of BallCorps ownership, and the many partners who helped bring this project to completion,” Bartlett said. “Not only does this investment ensure Toyota Field remains compliant with Major League Baseball facility standards, but it also enhances our ability to host premier events like the SEC Softball Tournament beginning in 2027.”
Since opening in 2020, Toyota Field has evolved beyond its role as the home of the Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels. The venue regularly hosts concerts, festivals, movie nights, youth activities and other community events throughout the year.
The clubhouse opening comes ahead of a busy stretch at Toyota Field. The Trash Pandas return Tuesday for a two-week homestand featuring six-game series against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos and the Chattanooga Lookouts, highlighted by Independence Day festivities and postgame fireworks during the July Fourth weekend.
Additional summer events at Toyota Field include Books on the Berm on July 17 and the annual Beer & Wine Festival on Aug. 1.
