Northrop Grumman Systems Corp. has been awarded a $30.8 million contract modification to continue sustainment work on the WISLA Integrated Air and Missile Defense Battle Command System, further expanding a program with strong ties to North Alabama’s growing missile defense sector.

According to the U.S. Department of Defense, the modification is valued at $30,759,214 and increases the total value of the contract to $78,426,063.

The work will be performed in Huntsville and is expected to continue through Dec. 31, 2029. The contract is funded through Foreign Military Sales to Poland and was awarded by Army Contracting Command at Redstone Arsenal.

The WISLA program is Poland’s integrated air and missile defense system and utilizes Northrop Grumman’s Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS), which connects sensors, radars and weapons systems into a unified battlefield network.

The award comes after Northrop Grumman opened its new Enhanced Production and Integration Center (EPIC) in Madison last year, a 175,500-square-foot facility dedicated to IBCS production and integration.

The company currently maintains approximately 900,000 square feet of facilities across the Huntsville area and employs more than 3,000 workers in North Alabama.
