Power trios: Three Huntsville Utilities teams a hit at lineworker rodeo

The Huntsville Utilities Lineworker Rodeo Team brought home three trophies, including first and second in the Journeyman 200 Amp Swollen Elbow Repair Competition, at the American Public Power Association’s Lineworker Rodeo over the weekend in the Bayou State.

The Rocket City team competed against 56 other public utility companies in the event, which was hosted by Lafayette Utilities System. The competition honors lineworkers’ expertise and the events are judged on safety, work practices, neatness, ability, equipment handling, and timely event completion.

Huntsville winners:

  • Overall Journeyman Team Competition: Cole Border, Colby Lipham, and Adam Thomas placed fourth.
  • Journeyman 200 Amp Swollen Elbow Repair Competition: Andrew Brown, Matthew Hubbard, and Ronny Mullins placed first; Cold Border, Colby Lipham, and Adam Thomas placed second.
