Radiance Technologies lands nearly $150 million contract to modernize Reagan Test Range

Radiance Technologies has been awarded a nearly $150 million federal contract to support modernization efforts at a key U.S. missile testing site.

The Defense Logistics Agency announced Radiance received a $149,683,593 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract to upgrade infrastructure and instrumentation at the Reagan Test Range. The five-year contract runs through April 10, 2031, with work supporting both Army and federal civilian agency customers.

The Reagan Test Range, located at the Ronald Reagan Ballistic Missile Defense Test Site in the Pacific, is a critical hub for missile defense testing, space operations and data collection.

Under the contract, Radiance will help improve radar, telemetry and optical systems, enhancing the military’s ability to track missiles and space vehicles and conduct advanced testing.

The contract was awarded as a sole-source acquisition, according to federal officials, with the Defense Logistics Agency Aviation at Redstone Arsenal serving as the contracting activity.

Radiance, a 100 percent employee-owned company headquartered in Huntsville’s Cummings Research Park, will provide engineering, scientific and technical services as part of the effort. The work includes upgrading both hardware and software systems, as well as developing rapid-response test instrumentation to support evolving mission needs.

The company plays a key role in supporting the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command, including 24/7 space operations and ballistic missile testing activities tied to national security.

The award builds on Radiance’s continued growth in Huntsville, where the company has expanded its research and development footprint in recent years. That includes the opening of the William C. Bailey, Jr. Research & Innovation Center in 2025, a 110,000-square-foot facility that features high-bay prototyping space and advanced laboratory capabilities.

Founded in 1999, Radiance Technologies has grown into a major player in defense and intelligence work, specializing in areas such as hypersonics, directed energy, cybersecurity and systems engineering.
