Alabama voters will have a little something extra to show off after casting their ballots in November.

Secretary of State Wes Allen has announced a special America 250 “I Voted” sticker commemorating the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States.

The newly designed stickers will be available for the Nov. 3 general election, giving Alabama voters a patriotic keepsake as the nation celebrates its semiquincentennial.

“For 250 years, Americans have fought, sacrificed, and worked to preserve the freedoms that make our Nation the greatest country in the world,” Allen said. “This America 250 ‘I Voted’ sticker represents more than participating in an election, it represents our commitment to preserving the constitutional republic our Founders gave us.”

Allen said he hopes the anniversary will encourage Alabamians to participate in the election.

“I hope every eligible Alabamian will join me as we celebrate 250 years of this great nation together by exercising our right to vote on November 3,” he said.

Polls across Alabama will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3.

Voters must present an acceptable form of photo identification when voting in person. Alabama also requires a copy of valid photo identification with absentee ballot applications, subject to applicable exemptions.

Voters can find their polling locations, check registration information, view sample ballots and learn more about election requirements at AlabamaVotes.gov.

Unofficial cumulative election results will also be posted on the Secretary of State’s website as they become available on election night.

The new America 250 “I Voted” sticker is part of Alabama’s recognition of the nation’s milestone anniversary, bringing a little extra history to a familiar Election Day tradition.
