Culver’s planning to butter up customers in Huntsville

HUNTSVILLE – Is the ButterBurger the better burger?

North Huntsville and Madison County can soon form their own opinion when the national chain Culver’s opens a restaurant on Winchester Road. The fast food restaurant claims its signature burger and its Fresh Frozen Custard to be famous among its customers in 920 independently owned stores in 26 states.

Ground has been broken on the eatery, which is co-owned by Floyd Williams and Tom Harberg. Williams is originally from Wisconsin and now lives in Huntsville.

“We’re excited to bring Culver’s warm hospitality and high-quality meals and treats to Huntsville,” Williams said. “This is an outstanding community, and we’re excited to become an active part of it.”

Williams was general manager for a Culver’s restaurant in Kenosha, Wis., near Milwaukee, where he started working at age 19 while pursuing a business management degree at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.

“Ten years ago, I started at Culver’s as a team member,” Williams said. “With the mentorship provided by the company, I’ve been able to develop my skills in the restaurant business to turn Culver’s into a fulfilling career, and I’m thrilled to be in a position to operate the Huntsville restaurant.

“I am blessed to have my amazing sister Jasmine as my training coordinator and her fiancé, and my friend Jamari, as an assistant manager. Their experience and support makes this all come together.”

The restaurant will have dine-in seating, a double drive-thru and take-out. After ordering at the front counter, customers seat themselves and food is delivered to tables.

“We invite everyone in Huntsville to experience Culver’s hospitality and delicious, handcrafted food when we open in January,” Williams said. “Our promise is that every guest who chooses Culver’s leaves happy.’’”

According to Culver’s, the ButterBurger “is made with 100 percent fresh, never frozen beef. It gets its name from its lightly buttered and toasted bun.”

As for the Fresh Frozen Custard, Culver’s claims it “gets its legendary creamy decadence from high-quality, fresh Wisconsin dairy. Each batch is handcrafted throughout the day. Guests can customize their frozen treats with more than 30 mix-ins and toppings. Culver’s offers three flavors of Fresh Frozen Custard every day: vanilla, chocolate and a Flavor of the Day.”

Among other items Culver’s offers are chicken sandwiches, fresh garden salads, crinkle-cut fries, Wisconsin cheese curds and Kids’ Meals.
