Huntsville-based aerospace and defense company Aurex plans to unveil a new secure communications concept during this week’s Space and Missile Defense Symposium, highlighting the firm’s continued expansion into advanced defense technologies.
The company announced it will introduce DICES Fusion, a next-generation mission voice and conferencing system currently under development, during the 2026 Space and Missile Defense Symposium, which runs Aug. 11-13 in Huntsville.
According to Aurex, DICES Fusion is being designed as a secure, mission-critical, internet protocol-based communications system for multi-domain military operations.
The announcement comes as defense contractors gather in Huntsville for one of the nation’s largest military space and missile defense conferences, where companies often use the event to showcase emerging technologies and capabilities to government and industry leaders.
“SMD is an event that brings together the brightest minds across government and industry leaders to advance the nation’s most important defense priorities,” Aurex CEO Warren Kohm said in a statement.
Kohm said the new concept reflects the company’s focus on developing technologies that help military customers address increasingly complex operational challenges.
In addition to DICES Fusion, Aurex plans to showcase technologies focused on artificial intelligence, missile defense, hypersonics, modeling and simulation, and space systems.
The company said its portfolio includes capabilities in advanced manufacturing, mission-critical communications, sensor packages, scalable hardware solutions and AI-enabled decision support.
“As operational environments become increasingly complex, Aurex is committed to developing technologies in response to our customers’ evolving needs,” said Dominick Barry, Aurex’s chief operating officer.

Attendees at the symposium will be able to meet with Aurex representatives and view the company’s technologies at Booth No. 130 in the South Hall exhibit area.
The annual Space and Missile Defense Symposium draws military leaders, defense contractors, policymakers and technology firms from across the country to discuss emerging threats, modernization efforts and future defense capabilities.
